From our workshop
Fusion Drive failures often start with slow start-ups and spinning beach balls. Back up first, then bring it in – the SSD side and hard drive side can fail separately.
What faults do you fix on the iMac 27-inch (Late 2013)?
- Glued-on screen that has to be removed carefully to work inside
- Power supply failures
- Overheating from dust build-up
- Slow 5,400rpm hard drive or failing Fusion Drive – an SSD upgrade makes a huge difference
Repairs and upgrades for this model
- Screen and display repairs (the screen is bonded on, so it needs care to open)
- Power supply and start-up faults
- SSD upgrades – one of the best-value upgrades for this model
- Memory (RAM) upgrades
- Liquid damage treatment and logic board repair
- Virus, malware and slow-Mac clean-ups, macOS reinstallation
- Data recovery and transfer to a new Mac
Can you recover data from my iMac 27-inch (Late 2013)?
The storage in this model can be taken out, which is good news if the Mac itself has died: we can remove the drive and recover your files directly, or move them to a new SSD. If the drive itself has failed, our data recovery lab handles clicking and undetected drives too.
Is it worth repairing my iMac 27-inch (Late 2013)?
Its last supported system is macOS 10.15 Catalina, so it is now an older Mac. An SSD, battery or clean-up often gives it years more life, but for a serious board fault we will usually suggest recovering your data and putting the money towards a newer Mac.
