Memory is soldered, but the hard drive can still be replaced with an SSD, which is the upgrade we recommend.

Can you recover data from my Mac mini (Late 2014)?
The storage in this model can be taken out, which is good news if the Mac itself has died: we can remove the drive and recover your files directly, or move them to a new SSD. If the drive itself has failed, our data recovery lab handles clicking and undetected drives too.
Is it worth repairing my Mac mini (Late 2014)?
Its last supported system is macOS 12 Monterey, so it is now an older Mac. An SSD, battery or clean-up often gives it years more life, but for a serious board fault we will usually suggest recovering your data and putting the money towards a newer Mac.
