From our workshop

Graphics faults usually show as lines, artefacts or a black screen with the fans running. We test the dedicated graphics under load to separate a board fault from a display fault.

What faults do you fix on the MacBook Pro 15-inch (2017)?

  • Display cable wear
  • Graphics faults
  • Battery swelling
  • Butterfly keyboard failures

  • Battery replacement, including swollen batteries

Can you recover data from my MacBook Pro 15-inch (2017)?

The storage is soldered to the logic board, so it cannot be removed and read in another machine. If the Mac won’t start, we repair the board to bring it back to life long enough to copy your files off safely.

Is it worth repairing my MacBook Pro 15-inch (2017)?

It runs up to macOS 13 Ventura. Plenty of these are still in daily use, and a new battery or keyboard often keeps one going for years – but we won’t recommend an expensive repair that isn’t worth it.
